Moving to Georgia three years ago changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. Leaving behind my family and a few close friends was difficult, but attending an Open House for Developing Hope marked the beginning of a true-life transformation for me.

It gave me permission to finally focus on myself—mind, body, and soul—which became the foundation of my journey. I like to call it a “data dump on me.” The supportive community of women has been both refreshing and deeply necessary, helping me heal broken pieces and receive deliverance from my own unhealthy thoughts and patterns.

"I had just moved to Georgia from Michigan, feeling as if I were a zombie; my heart and mind were chained by the traumas of my past. I knew I needed God, and my spirit would not be satisfied until I walked into my now church home. There, I found exactly what my soul was looking for: a family and the purpose that God has always had for me. It is a place where my story is welcomed! 

Securing a therapist and receiving the foundational truths taught by my Pastor have been a tremendous help to my growth. 

Developing Hope, our para-ministry, has not only helped stop the bleeding but has also sparked a strong desire in me to help others avoid the pitfalls I have faced. I may be a little scarred, but I know God brought me through it for the sake of others.

This ministry has shown me that, despite what the enemy tried to make me believe, I count it all joy because I am not too old or worthless to be of any earthly good. I have come to know for myself that I am who God says I am. If I can share my experiences to help someone else, then my "Living will not be in vain", and I look forward to hearing God say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
